“Low Down Dirty Blues” at the Kravis Center
Posted on August 30, 2010 · Leave a CommentA musical portrayal of life after closing for one local Blues club. Inspired by the great music of Muddy Waters, Mae West and Pearl Bailey. Low Down Dirty Blues is a story within a story, where four people come to gather at the club to share their lives, their experiences and their passions. We are taken back to an era when history meant something, when a person remembers “when.” This musical is an emotionally charged authenticity. It is a show that should not be missed.
Low Down Dirty Blues will be playing at the Kravis Center, September 1-5, 2010.
End of summer season sales
Posted on August 27, 2010 · Leave a Comment‘Tis the season, the end of the summer season. Now is the best time to get those great end of the summer season bargains to stock away for next year. There are a couple of things that I most definitley stock up on, one are flip flops. My children go through flip flops like water running from a faucet. I always buy 2 sizes larger, cross my fingers and hope they fit the next year. The second thing I buy are t-shirts. Again, these are a staple in our home, we can never have too many of them. There are two places that I go, that have great deals for the end of summer, Old Navy and Target. I always seem to be able to find what I am looking for, especially for the end of a season.
The nearest Target to Woodbine Apartments is on 500 N Congress Ave, Lake Park

62nd Annual Emmy Awards this weekend
Posted on August 24, 2010 · Leave a Comment
I am an entertainment junkie. I like to watch Entertainment Tonight and Access Hollywood. Everytime they come on, my husband just rolls his eyes at me. This Sunday is the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards in LA. This is the show, that I think is better than the Oscars. Our favorite stars from the medium of television are honored for their achievement in the year’s best shows. My favorites to win this year come from “Glee.” This show has just taken off and has become very popular all over the globe. Jane Lynch, who is a nominee in the category for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her portrayal of the sassy Sue Sylvester, is my pick to win this category.
Which series do you think will walk away with top honors this Sunday?
The 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards airs on ABC this Sunday at 8e/5p.

The seven time Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter is best known for his “Your Body is a Wonderland” which was his breakout single of 2003. Since then, Mayer has consistently toured and made chart topping music. This is your chance to see him live, which I have seen him twice and his concerts are an event not to be missed.

Take a tour among the Mangroves
Posted on August 17, 2010 · Leave a CommentHave you ever taken a tour among the Mangroves? These trees are unique in that they have long roots that come out from the water. They are able to survive because they can get freshwater from the salt water. You will be guided through the Jupiter inlet to see the marvelous Mangroves, and if you’re lucky and the weather is right, then the tour will take you to the Jupiter Lighthouse. If you want more information about this tour, contact the Jupiter Outdoor Center.

Recreate the perfect room for yourself
Posted on August 2, 2010 · Leave a CommentHave you ever seen a picture of a room in a magazine and wished that you could do the same thing, but for half the cost? Well, you can and you can do it inexpensively and it won’t cost you an arm and a leg. I actually did this with my kitchen. I love the Tuscan style and found my perfect kitchen, problem was it was in Architectural Digest and I knew that I would have to win the lottery to do it exactly the way the picture was.
Follow these few simple tips and you too can have the room of your dreams, it worked for me.
- First cut out the picture you have seen. I actually made a folder of pictures of things that I liked in the Tuscan style.
- I went to stores such as Home Goods to find items that would match or at least come close to, what it was I was looking for. Hobby Lobby was also the best place for me to find items.
- Use the internet; you never know what you can find, especially on EBay.
- Go out to garage sales, again, you never know who is selling what and you may find something.
- Don’t go overboard with things. You can make a room look more cluttered than your dream room should be. You will always be able to add more, if you like when you have lived in the room for a while.
Have you ever recreated a room? If so, tell me about it here on the blog. I would love to know how it turned out. And tell me what you would do different, if anything at all.
